The Process

Hey blog, it's me Jenna. Welcome back here to tell you how I made my very entertaining all-about-me commercial. My first step was finding all the material going into the video, which I talked about in my last blog. It wasn't too hard to find the material because, thanks to my mom, there are many terrible photos of me on her social media. Gathering everything together was the easiest part of this entire project. It took the least amount of time considering I already knew where everything was. I just needed to pick what went along with the vibe I was going for and what met the criteria of what I needed. In total, I found 4 pictures that really described younger Jenna. Since I was going for a more baby-like approach than recent pictures, it did make it harder for me to gather the materials, but in the end, I found the photos that really captured baby Jenna. The videos are probably the hardest part to find because most of the content I found on my mom's social media was pictures; she had no videos, so I had to go to my dad because he keeps his phone backed up, so he has pictures from the second he got an iPhone to now all saved on his computer. The pictures were from around 2010, so I had to scroll back into his library of 13 years of photos and videos to find some of the videos. A challenging part of the videos is that most of them had sound, so I had to figure out how to get rid of the sound so I could replace it with my next step, which is the music part of the project. The songs I found were another thing my dad helped with because my entire childhood all me, my brother, and my dad would do was bike and listen to music, and my dad is an old soul; he still to this day has the same playlist we would listen to, which back then was old songs from when he was a teenager or songs that he would listen to as a kid. I went into this thinking it was going to be hard, but thanks to my parents, who save stuff for me, it was actually surprisingly easy to find everything I needed, so I could focus mostly on how I was going to edit it all together because I had no knowledge of how to edit stuff. My favorite part of this was seeing all the memories I had forgotten because I was so young. Some of the songs I listened to were really nostalgic because now I don't listen to that music because I have a different music taste, but it was nice to hear them again after so many years. And to listen to the music with my dad was nice too. Now I know some things, but I'm still learning. I hope you enjoyed it, and this is Jenna signing out. See you next time on the blog.
